Life

When you're young, your whole life is about the pursuit of fun, then you grow up and learn to be cautious; you could break a bone, or a heart. You look before you leap and sometimes you don't leap at all because there's not always someone there to catch you. And in life, there is no safety net. When did it stop being fun and start being scary?

Tis the season for skiing (Soon!)

Guess what guys I'll be back in NZ during end of aug ~ early sept!

Some friends and I are planning to go to Christchurch around end of August for a week and will be at the Queenstown ski area (Coronet, Remarkables and Treble). Let me know if you guys can meet me there! :)

This will be my dream kodak moment!
Are you swimming upstream in oceans of blue?
Do you feel like your sinking?
Are you sick of the rain after all you've been through?
Well I know what you're thinking
When you can't take it
You can make it
Sometime soon I know you'll see

'cause when your in you're darkest hour
And all of the light just fades away
When you're like a single flower whose colours have turned to shades of gray
Well hang on and be strong

Where taking each step one day at a time
You can't loose your spirit
Let live and let live forget and forgive
It's all how you see it
And just remember keep it together
Don't you know you're never alone

'cause when you're in your darkest hour
And all of the light just fades away
When you're like a single flower whose colours have turned to shades of gray
Well hang on, and be strong

No you're not defeated
And soon you'll be smiling once again
Then you won't have to feel it
Let it go with the wind
Time passes us by
And know that you're aloud to cry

'cause when you're in your darkest hour
And all of the light just fades away
When you're like a single flower whose colours have turned to shades of gray
Well hang on and be strong

Jump

Jump, she told him. And he did, one leap at a time, staggering, imbalanced, almost falling as he moved closer to her.
Through the hoop, yes, that’s it. She demanded and watched unmercifully as he obediently followed.
Why does he listen? She wondered, and why is it a natural instinct for her to continuously pin him to the corner, push him to the extreme…

One of my friends asked me yesterday what's the point of blogging. He saw it as a way to tell stories about your everyday life to the world, and asked me why you would want people to know.. I told him that it's the best way for my friends to know what's going on while I'm across the Tasman, missing them :) hehe cheesy eh, well just wanted to let you guys know I'm missing ya, and thinking of you all...

It's crazy who you bump into just walking down the road... Not that it's significant (haha sorry Dan, you know I'm kidding) but the world is so small. Bumped into a friend I haven't seen in a while yesterday as I was rushing to a meeting. It's one of those moments that you look at someone, and then you rewind and do a second take. Haha lucky his white teeth blinded me!

I'll post the photos soon!

Oh and the photos from the loooooong weekend will be up soon as well :) so *watch this space*

Change is one of those things that you initially resist but eventually learn to love it in hindsight. When I moved to New Zealand, I resisted with every fiber in body and it wasn't for a while until I felt at home in my own skin. But with every one I met, everyone I called my friend and my crew (my boys and the aba), I took a little bit of their personality with me. When you're with your friends, it is not as apparent, unless you completely mirror their actions, the nuiances you pick up from them will come off as merely being close. But once I moved back to Cali, I would do something and think to myself, wow, that's what __(insert name here)___ used to do. If I ever want proof that my life in New Zealand and the friends that I made there mean the world to me all I need to do is look up...

Hey guys,

Ok, here are the results from Round the Bays, 2007:

Anna N 102:04
Judy 100:12
Terence 40:19
Paul 42:20
Sue 57:23
Anna M 69:20
Jenny M 73:15
Rachel MJ 67:12
Susan 102:06
Renee 100:09

I have a feeling I’ve missed out someone. If I have, do let me know and I’ll update the list.

Judy the devious bastard ran off without me in the last two minutes - that's the only reason she got a better time!! hahaha.

This year, being my first year to participate in Round the Bays, I would say I’m pretty happy with my achievement of just completing the race regardless of how long it took. Next year, my goal will be to beat my current time. Wish me luck :D.

Allee, I wished you were there to share my first experience… and also I think your presence would have brought more excitement and competition for those who ran the race.

Anyways, just want to say “good job everyone” and thank you to Judy and her company for the feast after the race – you accountants really do know how to put on a fantastic BBQ :D.

Hey everyone, how's RTB training going?
Hope you're all ready for the big race this weekend... Su, Anna and Judy you girls make me so proud! Hehe show those guys what you're made of.
What's up with the tight tees idea? Hmmm must've been Simon's idea - designed to make sure that you can't run too fast =P

Here are some photos that I've taken with my bad quality mobile phone camera. It's so limited, there's only space to store 10 pics at one time.

So it's official - I'm back at uni again!
It has happened all so suddenly... and I'm really glad I'm going forward with this decision especially knowing that everybody is being so supportive of me doing this :)

Ask me how I feel about it after a month and maybe I'll give you a different answer... but for now keeping busy with work, play, study, and sports is awesome!

Off to Brisbane for the long weekend, can't wait to finally spend some time with family again :) Until next time...

Hey guys,

They say that the first step is always the hardest. Well, guess what? They’re completed right! I have been sitting here for a while now wondering what to write. And yes, I am a virgin “blogger.” Hahaha. If you know me well enough you would know that I’m hardly the type to post personal comments or pictures across the world wide web but just for you Allee, I will do it!

I guess I’ll start with how this all came about. Personally I blame Allee, it was all her idea to begin with! And what's worst is that she made me part responsible for this blog by giving me full access, goddamnit!! Haha. Actually, from another perspective this blog serves a really good purpose as a channel for communication between friends in NZ and Allee who’s just across the ditch. (See Allee, even though you’re across the ocean you’ll always be connected to our lives in NZ :)).

Our intention is for everyone to use this blog to post messages and updates. Instead of circulating email forwards and bombarding each other’s in boxes, we can vandalise this blog instead! Let this be a place where you can share your success, a place to let out your anger or lame jokes, or you could simply say “hi” from time to time just to let us know you’re still alive (CUNG!!). Whatever it is that may tickles your fancy, it would be good to hear about all it. Feel free to take the centre stage and post whatever your heart desires – the sky is the limit!

That’s all from me for now. Let’s get “blogging” haha.

It's been more than half a year since my last post... and it's amazing how much things have changed within that short amount of time.

PREVIOUSLY, on Across The Ocean....

"I’ll be moving to Melbourne soon, not sure exactly when, but sometime before Jan 8th...”

And since then there was a whole month of farewell dinners, lunches and an awesome road trip (despite the fact we didn’t quite make it to Tonogoriro crossing – stupid fog!)and a forever memorable final farewell filled with tears and laughter… followed by an 24 hr delayed flight, I arrived in 'Magnificent' Melbourne.

So I guess I'm finally fulfilling my promise and facing up to my new yr’s resolution of keeping a blog! It did take some time to restart and I can see you rolling your eyes now at my reasons of “being to busy to settle in”, “busy working”, or “busy exploring the city” but it’s all true! I mean if I hadn’t done any of that, then what would there be write about…

“Hi guys, did nothing today, just dropping a line *peace out*” o_O Now that would be lame wouldn’t it.
Anyway, I’m going to keep this short and sweet… so Anna, it’s your turn next!

[ Questions ]

Why is it that it you don't know you want something until you know you can't attain it?
Why is it that you choose A but regret not choosing B afterwards?
Why is it that while you have A you think about B?
Why is everyone so selfish...
